Artwork Guidelines

Design is often the most important part of the process for your job.
You may have a design already made or you might like us to create one for you.  Either way the end artwork needs to be in the right format.
The guide below will tell you which format your artwork should be in. Incorrect formats slow the process down and may incur a correction charge.  In the majority of cases artwork is free but it will be judged on a case-to-case basis.  Charges, should they apply are listed below.  If you are unsure about anything, please contact our office.

Design Guidelines

Due to the Screen printing process, the size of the designs necessitates the use of vector art as opposed to pixel based art. Blowing up art to fit on the full back of a t-shirt, or similar garment,  requires crisp and exact lines (to avoid blurring)
Guide to Submission:  If you follow this; you cant go wrong.

  • The art must be submitted in Adobe Illustrator (if submitted as Adobe Photoshop min. resolution must be 400dpi)
  • The art must contain not more than four different colours
  • The thinnest lines cannot be less than 0.25 point
  • There can be no gradients, shadows, or colour tints
  • All text should be converted to outline. Or the name of the font emailed to us.

File Programs and Format:  Designs for clothing require the vector art format due to the necessity to blow up and resize art work. Since there are a variety of vector art programs, we have chosen the industry standard; Adobe Illustrator.  We prefer the files to be sent in the .ai or .eps format (.pdf is also okay).  We run Adobe Illustrator version 10. If the file is bigger than 1 Mb it should be zipped or stuffed.

Text converted to outlines: Because there are thousands of fonts, and we could not have all of them installed in our computer, it is necessary for all text to be converted to outlines. This will allow us to view your files as they were designed, instead of having our program convert your font to one that is installed. If you don't know who to convert text to outlines, please make sure you email a copy of the font you have used. In Windows, you can 'copy & paste' the font you used from the 'fonts' folder found in the control panel.
If you are unsure whether your artwork is appropriate or not, it is often easier to just send it to us and we will let you know and what may need doing.

FAQs

Below are a few of the questions we are frequently asked. If you cannot see the answer to the question you have, please contact us.

Q. How would you like your artwork?
A. Our preferred format is Illustrator EPS (text converted to outlines) for print, jpg for embroidery.  For a full guide, see our artwork guidelines.

Q. How long will it take till I receive my order?
We deal with orders as quickly as possible, and it usually takes 7-15 working days from receipt of payment for your goods to reach you. However, small orders can be done quicker and some more complex orders, such as custom manufactured garments, may take a little longer.
We do operate a ‘emergency service’ where jobs can be turned round very quickly but this is subject to availability and charges.

Q. How much is standard delivery?
A. This depends on where your order is going to. Please see or delivery guide for a full list of areas and charges.  Dynamic Teamwear will normally use couriers fro your delivery for speed and security.

Q. I live locally; can I pick my order up?
A.  Usually yes. But please let us know as early as possible if you wish to do this.

Q. I need my order fast; do you offer an express service?
A. Yes. We offer an express delivery service which is in the majority of cases next day.  We also run an emergency job service that can see your job being turned round in a very short space of time.  Emergency jobs are subject to availability and charges.

Q. Do you supply Blank Garments?
A. Yes, normally if you want 5 items or more in total but it does depend on the item, the manufacturer and stock.  Contact us for the exact price but the website is a good guide.

Q. Is there anything you don’t supply
A.  There is very little that we can’t supply or get hold of. Lycra outfits, sports kits, head gear, bags, ear muffs……anything is possible. Just contact us with your requirements and we will always do our best.

Q. Do you have a minimum order quantity?
A. Not as such.  We do not have specified minimum order quantities but will recommend that for printing you order a minimum of 5 garments and embroidery 10.  This is because it becomes uneconomical to order below this as economies of scale really do work well in this industry.

Q. How should I was my printed garment?
A.   Please wash screen printed garments inside out.
Use only cold or lukewarm water when washing (max. 40 degrees).
Use only mild soap or detergent.
DO NOT USE BLEACH OF ANY KIND
DO NOT MACHINE/TUMBLE DRY!
Iron garment inside out.

Q. Which should I go for embroidery or printing?
A.  This very much depends on your requirements.  Budget, use and material are all considerations.  Embroidery is more expensive due to the process and materials involved but provide a unique, long-lasting outcome.  We can advise on the best technique for your job and will always ensure you are satisfied.

Q. What type of printing do you do?
A. We specialise in screen printing because of the superior quality that it offers.
For individual names, football kits,  waterproof outerwear and small orders we use transfer printing as it is more hard wearing and economical.

More information is available on our screen printing guide.

Q. Do you have shops or stockists?
No.  We run solely from our website.  This is to keep overheads lower and transfer saving to our customers. This allows us to offer some of the cheapest prices in the industry.

Q. Why Dynamic Teamwear?
A. The word ‘dynamic’ very much sums up the company.  We are always changing and evolving.  We keep track of trends, new products and materials to ensure we offer the best service and products available.  Dynamic also characterises the way we work. Quickly,  effectively and efficiently.

Q. Why are your prices so low?
A. By using this website instead of a shop we can keep our overheads low. We don’t have to pay rent, extra staff etc. We can pass these savings straight onto our customers. Our clients can use the website to browse, shop or simply get our contact details.

Q. Are you VAT registered?
A. Yes we are. VAT number. VAT is a UK sales tax (17.5%).
Our VAT number is GB 808 0596 23
VAT is charged on all items except children's clothing which is zero VAT rated.
All customisation services are VAT-able.

Q. What payment methods do you accept?
A. We can accept the following:
Cash, Cheque (made payable to Dynamic Teamwear) and credit/debit card. We can accept credit/debit cards wither in person through our terminal or over the phone.  Soon you will be able to pay online too!

Q. Can I order a sample and how much will it cost?
A. We do usually charge for samples. This is in order to keep our costs down and therefore keep main job prices down.  Should you confirm the sample and go ahead with the job, the sample will be refunded.   We supply visuals for all jobs to be signed off so you will have a good idea of what the final product will look like.
